Building an e-future with Chargetrip
It has been a month since I joined Chargetrip — a team with an awesome goal of switching people and businesses to electric mobility. It’s a different world for me, full of things I don’t know yet, and it makes my new challenge even more enjoyable and exciting. What is also great about it is the purpose — help to make our planet a better place to live. How? Let me tell you!
I have almost nothing to do with cars. Last year I tried to get a driving license for the first time in my life, but sadly I failed the practical exam (in my defense, it is very difficult to do it in Amsterdam). My only connection to the world of cars is my dad. He taught mechanical engineering at the University for over 20 years. Cars are his passion. When I was quite young, he was doing some maintenance on our car and called me to join him. He opened the front hood and started to explain how the engine works, pointing to different parts of it… I remember, as a small girl, I was very proud that my dad is explaining these “boyish” things to me. FYI, my dad has 3 daughters :) And well, years later, I am working for a company that is passionate about e-mobility, is committed to the renewable energy transition, and believes that the future is indeed electric ⚡So it makes me happy not only because I believe into this too, but also because it brings me even closer to my dad, through his profession ❤️
So what do we actually do at Chargetrip? The core is Chargetrip’s GraphQL API — a powerful routing API for electric cars. The “why” comes from the biggest fear when someone considers switching to an electric car — range anxiety. How far will your battery take you? Where do I stop to charge and how much time will I need to spend at a charging station? How long will my journey last? Chargetrip’s routing algorithm answers these and many more questions. It takes into account a lot of variables like weather conditions, availability of charging stations, the number of people in the car, and of course the car itself! And much more… Last, but not least, especially in this case, electric cars are better for the environment. By choosing to drive an electric car, you are helping to reduce emissions, which means less harmful pollution! And if you use renewable energy to recharge your EV, you contribute to this beautiful goal even more.
Well, it’s a short story about why and where I am now :) I am diving into this new world and will keep sharing with you what I learn about it. I am sure it’s gonna be an amazing journey! Fastening my seatbelt and looking only forward! 🚘⚡️🚀
